So it goes to shift into 3rd gear and cuts out and my RPM's kick up really high so I'm guessing the 3rd and 4th disk is screwed up? I've checked all the cables and changed the transmission fluid and filter and still no difference. So I'm wondering a few thing.
-How hard is it to rebuild a transmission? Would I be able to figure it out myself never seeing or doing it before?
-If not should I get my transmission rebuilt or should I just invest into a new/rebuilt one and any input you might have on whats wrong with the transmission I would appreciate. Thanks.

It takes special tools and there's about 200 parts inside, get it rebuilt by a pro or look online, used at a wrecking yard is an option too, but you can buy someone else's problems that way too!! http://monstertrans.com

pro built automatics is the most recomended shop here. check them out. I wouldnt try building it myself.

i highly recommend you have a professional rebuild your tranny. that is a butt kicking one too
