Stick making a crank/pop noise when shifting
I have a 92 Firebird, 5 Speed. When I shift into 2nd gear it makes a pop/crank
noise. Thats the best way I can describe it, as it's not as harsh as grinding gears. I'm assuming something's not aligned correctly; if i pull the shift stick hard towards the left then down into gear I can avoid the noise.
It doesn't seem serious, but I doubt it's good on the car and I'm ignorant when it comes to transmissions. What am I looking at and how much would a shop charge to fix the issue.
