t56 swap questions

ok, so my 88 IROC-z 305 has a 700r4 and I am getting it ready for a t56 swap and had some questions:

Does the brake booster have to come out for the master/slave cylinders to fit?

On the shifter bracket, there is a front section, right ,and middle that have spot welds. which spot welds have to be drilled out?

Do I need a new drive shaft?

There are cutouts in the insulation by the pedals, 1-1'' oval and 2 diagonal small holes. are those for a clutch pedal and cylinder, even though there are no holes for them in the firewall?

thanks for any help. If you have some tips on making it easier please let me know.

No... although the bolts that hold the pedals in are also the booster bolts so it's no big deal to have it a little bit out of the way if you want.

Sorry, can't help you there, I don't mess with auto cars much. However, given that the T-56 shifter has to come through the floor there, I doubt it matters. Neca eos omnes, Deus suos agnoscet.

Do I need a new drive shaft?
Hard to say. The T-56 swap itself doesn't require one though.

There are cutouts in the insulation by the pedals, 1-1'' oval and 2 diagonal small holes. are those for a clutch pedal and cylinder, even though there are no holes for them in the firewall?
Yes, more or less; they're not just super precise obviously, but when you get your new hydraulics from GM, you'll also get a gasket, and that makes a GREAT template for drilling & cutting.

If you have some tips on making it easier please let me know.
Memorize this thread and study it in minute detail until you understand every word, every number, every picture, every part, and every other thing as well as you understand your own name, however odd or incomprehensible or insignificant it may seem now.
