700r/4 power question!

How much power can you produce in a rebuilt 700r/4 before it can't handle it anymore? I'm trying to decided how much power I can turn in my Camaro before parts break or need to be replaced.

Re: 700r/4 power question!

Once it is built with the "right parts", it can handle about 750 FWHP horsepower and live for awhile.

Thanks for you reply, I was only looking to put around 500hp behind it after having it rebuilt. When you talk about "right parts" can you elaborate on that?

Re: 700r/4 power question!

The Borg Warner Hi-Energy 8 clutch 3-4 clutch setup. The late GM heat treated sunshell or the Beast. TransGo "modified" Shift kit along with the larger boost valves, Corvette servo, 29 element input sprag, Hi-Energy 2-4 band, etc. The right torque converter is critical to long life too.
