Need Help with New tansmmision Keeps Breaking
So I had a local speed shop rebuild my tranny 700r4 billet servos all the goodies like a 700 raptor supposedly , anyway it worked for two weeks while I was tuning my new engine and then boom pulled off freeway and it would not shift out of first. So I limped it back to the shop (yeah it has a year warranty) anyway it's been there 2 weeks, they initially told me governor was broke, so they replaced that and no good, so they said they pulled the valve body and there ware debri in it causing tv valve to stick. Put it back together and same thing happened. So they removed it and overhauled again. Called today and was told debri in radiator and the radiator cooler is not flowing correctly, so they disconnected it and ran it to the aux cooler only. Question radiator is about 6 months old and previous stock tranny was fine, I did this to handle the double horsepower and torque I now have- is it possible about a blockage in the radiator cooler/debri or am I being snowballed? I said I'd put a new radiator in it myself and the speed shop guy said to hold off and drive it around a while to make sure it's working- which makes me think he's using the radiator as an excuse possibly. That being said I really need advise on this. Is it snakeoil/ muffler bearing? This is real frustrating. Help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

who installed the trans? if they did, and didnt flush the lines, its their fault if there is crap still in them. How reputable are they, or it it just a chain shop?

Re: Need Help with New tansmmision Keeps Breaking
It's a reputable shop, they flushed the lines/coooler when they removed original tranny and rebuilt they said, and they reinstaled it, and like I said the original never had any problems. They tranny guy at the shop told the shop owner the tranny has debri in radiator cooler / and radiator cooler is not flowing properly. Is that possible since original never had a problem? Could it be new debri from there rebuild failure even though they said nothing broke except governor/ tv valve sticking from debris? Since I know nothing about tranny coolers how is it tested for flow/ debris? Thanks for the reply 86TA! I've got over 10grand in this project and it's becoming real frustrating!

Re: Need Help with New tansmmision Keeps Breaking
my question would be, if they flushed the lines, and there is debris in the cooler/lines, where did it come from???? It had to come from somewhere. and if they flushed the lines, it shouldnt have been in the lines/cooler
I dont know how to tell if the factory cooler is flowing properly, i dont see how it couldnt, unless its clogged with this mystery debirs. its a very simple cooler. sounds like an attempt to cover one's ***.

Re: Need Help with New tansmmision Keeps Breaking
The cooler is only a tube that runs through the radiator from the info I've found. Thats what I thought cover ones ### (tranny guy at shop) after they got it running it was another week of valve body fixing to get to shift right. If the cooler was blocked, wouldn't fluid be pushed out the dipstick or drain hole? And like I said originally tranny had no issues, radiator 3 core only six months old. So makes sense as to why they want me to put some miles on it with cooler hooked up only- I suggested yesterday they put a radiator in and if it fails with new radiator to refund me the cost of new rad and labor, was told (well not entirely sure the radiator is the problem) maybe debri from torque convertor (hows that possible it's supposed to be a nice new HP unit)? Gonna pick it up today and see what happens. Grrrrrrrrrr
