700r4 trouble

so i went from the parts store (ironically) to college and when i got there i went to put my Camaro in park and let off the brake...i kept rolling forward. the transmission is stuck in drive. my question is weather its the tranny or is it the shifter cable? i really don't want to have to put $1600.00 for another transmission on top of the $500.00 i spent today. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

thanks. it ran strong when i had to drive it home. it just stays in drive even if put in park or reverse or anything like that. how long does it take and how hard is it to change the cable out?

Re: 700r4 trouble

Probably about 20 minutes. Could probably do it about 5 if you've done it before.

Re: 700r4 trouble

it may have just popped off of the lever on the tranny. Nothing a little wire won't fix
