Moser with PBR calipers?
ok so i am planning on ordering a 12 bolt for my 87. The 9 bolt is getting whiney and the posi is completely dead..........BUT i would love to take the PBR calipers and rotors off the 9 bolt and put them on the new moser....when i called moser, the guy said they wound't bolt up.....now a buddy of mine has a moser 12 bolt in his car and it sure LOOKED like PBR calipers on there...so can anybody help me out with this? Can it be done or not? thanks

Re: Moser with PBR calipers?
Order your rear for a 4th gen, except shortened 1¾" on each side.
Unless of course you'd rather use 4th gen or late-model Vette wheels anyway; in which case, the std 4th gen setup would be perfect.
Onlu possible issue is, you might need to alter the backing plates, as the hole in the middle where they fit over the axle bearing will have to be bigger, because the 12-bolt axle bearing itself is bigger.

Re: Moser with PBR calipers?
If Moser says they designed their rear to work with 4th gen brakes and that those bolt right up, then as cheeeeeeeep as that sort of thing is, it's not worth worrying about whether your existing stuff will work.
Smarter to just sell it and buy what they say.
4th gen calipers are aluminum.
Ask Moser if Vette brakes will bolt to their product.

Re: Moser with PBR calipers?
Ok my local camaro expert 9 runs his own shop) tells me that the PBR calipers from my 89 rear end are the same ( we think) as the early fourth gen aluminum calipers........which would explain why i saw aluminum calipers on the back of a pal of mine's car..........he bought it used so he didn't know how they got there........so i'll oder the moser for the thrid gen, with the 4th gen setup for the brakes........so thanks for the help!
