Flexplate and Torque Converter
I am in the middle of a transmission swap i got everything pretty much done however i cannot get the flexplate and torque converter bolt holes to line up. i have done this before and have not had a problem rotating the torque converter or the flexplate. However in this case (a different new to me 700r4 transmission) i cannot rotate either. the torque converter rotated freely when the transmission was on the ground. i tried rotating the flex plate at the torque converter and from the front of the engine no dice in either instance. the engine has not been started since i blew the old transmission a few weeks ago would this effect anything?
any ideas?

Re: Flexplate and Torque Converter
You have the engine and tranny bolted to eachother, correct- not just lined up?
Pull your spark plugs- that makes it easier to rotate the engine.
Also, make sure the gear selector lever is in P or N.

Yes the engine and transmission are bolted together. I had the tried both P and N and still no dice. I did have not tried taking out the spark plugs though ill give that a try
