In case somebody is looking for another member to inspire or motivate them to pony up and do the conversion, I finally got mine done. Still need tags and tires (13yo weatherchecked), but it was AWESOME getting to drive it for the first time as a 5 speed. I've only driven it a total of 6 blocks, but it was the greatest 6 blocks!

I can't thank everyone on here enough for posting questions, answers, stickies, etc. All I can say to anyone thinking about it is search, read, search, read, and search and read some more.

Still have some work to do on the exhaust- like adding an X or H, mufflers, and fabbing a crossmember to give more clearance for the true duals.

 

Its great to see another conversion completed! I have done two T-56 swaps and it really isn't that hard. It just looks hard to do, and the benefits are definitely worth it! I wouldn't use a T-5 myself but hey it's great to see you completed it and you enjoy it! That's all that matters man! Good job and good luck!

 

Agreed- I would have done the T56, but it wasn't in the budget this go around. With everything done, it will just make it cheaper when/if I finally do smoke the T5.
