Transmission heat sensor?
Transmission heat sensor?
Is there a sensor that keeps the transmission from going to over drive until the engine temp is up? My 94 camaro had one and it was having crazy shifting problems where it would jump in and out of OD like crazy, I thought the tranny was going but it was just the bad sensor. Now my 86 V6 camaro is kind of doing the same thing. It will be cruising along in OD then it will jump out of OD, then back in again. If there is a sensor, where would it be? Thanks!

Probably not jumping in/out of OD, but rather locking/unlocking the torque converter - just shift down to D when this occurs if it bothers you until you get past the hill or load. Nothing electronic (except the TC lockup) inside a 700R4, so your answer is no.

Yeah, I meant TC locking and unlocking, I don't know why I said OD. But there has to be something because my TC never locks up until my engine is up to temp. And when my thermostat was bad and the engine never warmed up it would never lock. Something has to be sensing the temp and keeping the TC from locking unless it just malfunctions when it is cold. The times it would rapidly lock and unlock it wasn't under any load and some times I was even going down hill.
The fluid was at the add pint line so I added some and reset the TV cable and so far its been better. I'll wait and see. Thanks though!
