Tight universal joints?

My car is in the shop getting a new (rebuilt) transmission, and the mechanic suggested replacing the U-joints, he said they felt "kinda tight". What does that mean? I've heard of them getting loose and worn, but not tight.

Re: Tight universal joints?

it means replace them. You should not have to fight with a ujoint to get movement
