help with gear selction
hey guys lookin for a little advice on gear selection for my 86 TA. it has a 383 dart 215 platinum iron eagles comp cams xs290 540" in 558 ex 252 260 dur @50 on a 110ls 850 holley with a victor jr. th400 w/ 3000 stall and tire size is 245/50/16 and slicks are 26/9/15. i was wonderin if i should go with a 3.73 or just put a 4.10 in it. it is a street car that will see trips to the track just seeing what guys with similiar combos are runnin. and it is the stock rear with 2.73 so i know i need the fatter ring gear. thanks alex.

373 would probably be best if your going to drive on the streets. dont think the 10 bolt will last long though

yeah not countin on it to last long just hoping it will until i can save up for a 9" or maybe a 12 bolt. do ya think a 3.73 will leave some performance at the track

3.73 will run good on the track too. 3.73 is a solid gear. My buddy has one and it runs low 11's and got into the high 10's and his engine is only hopped up a little bit.
