Transmission: T-56
Axle/Gears: 3.73
posi or no posi?

i have an 84 z28 with a 10 bolt rear end. i have 3.73 gears i believe they came stock but i have no posi. how does this work or am i mistaking in some information?
any info please let me know. i have buyers and just want to know the most info as i can get.

posi was optinal extra, go to rpo codes, you might have it, might not

And no matter what the "codes" say, you have no way of knowing whether the rear THAT'S IN THE CAR has it or not.

Best thing to do, if some buyer really cares and is willing to pay enough difference in the price of the car to make it worthwhile, is pop the cover off and look.

Not many of those came with posi but some did. There was a shortage of them at the time. And even if it did, AT BEST, it's an Auburn, and most likely wore out, and those aren't rebuildable because Auburn doesn't supply the parts. AT WORST, it could be a Gov-Bomb. Only LOOKING will tell.
