Can it handle the power

Hey guys so i finally got the motor done in my 84 TA and im concerned about the rear. Its the 7.5 10 bolt but i threw in eaton posi and richmond procomps 3.73 in it awhile back.

Pretty much i want to know how much do you think this rear can take before it will constantly brake and i have to get a 9 inch. Im going low 11 now but doing minor tweeks on it now to go high 10's.

if i were to beef up to moser axels and new pinion gears and posi unit i could run it awhile. I would like to get it into bracket racing soon but moneys tight so a brand new 9 inch is out of the question now

Thank you for any input on the situation

Re: Can it handle the power

I like running more preload on the ring gear, and reduce the backlash to the minimum, to keep the ring gear from walking away from the pinion. A steel cap along with stronger and longer bolts (if possible) on the ring gear side will help here also. With the automatic, DO NOT make it shift to hard and that will keep the rear end alive.
