Re: transmission

How does the air dam look underneath the car? Do the cooling fans come on?

Re: transmission

Air dam is not complete, and fan runs constant.

Re: transmission

Lack of an air dam will cause cooling issues at speed, car needs it to create the low pressure behind the radiator, and draw the air through. It's been a while, so I may be wrong, but if the car is moving at >35mph, the ecu won't kick on the cooling fans. If it's overheating when sitting still, and the cooling fans are running, you probably have much larger issues.

Re: transmission

Going to check tstat, I put back the air dam and it's still getting hot.

Re: transmission

Are you losing coolant ? If so determine where. May be a simple fix or a more serious problem with heads or head gaskets. As stated above the air dam is vital in keeping the engine cool. Is the radiator clean, good circulation etc ? Good luck !
