hi, i have a 88 gta and when the wheels point straight 1200 the steering wheel points to the right say about 0200. i would like to know how to correctly remove the steering wheel so i can re-align the steering wheel to be in the right spot.

 

Your issue should have been eliminated when the car was aligned. Do a search on tie rod adjusters and steering wheel adjustment for a how-to.

There's no adjustment at the steering wheel. Tie rods and how the steering shaft connects to the gear box are the only adjustments. Unless someone had the box out, it's probably the alignment that's off.

 

I had mine aligned a couple months ago & while it tracked straight & true, with the hands off the steering wheel, they hadn't bothered to set the steering wheel straight before aligning the car. So I took it back not a week later. The steering wheel went from 10 o'clock while tracking straight, to about 12:15 while tracking straight.

Take it back & tell them to fix their mistake.

 

Why did you buy a car with a bent pitman arm shaft?
