Engine: 151 Pontiac Iron Duke TBI/ 305 SBC
Transmission: THM200/ THM200r4
Axle/Gears: 2.93/ 2.41
How much tranny fluid?

Im wanting to change my filter but what I need to know how much tranny fluid should i replace? If my total capacity is 9.5 qts how much stays in the valve body and convertor.

Transmissions is a THM200C by the way

Its similar to an oil change, you don't get allot compared to what it all holds.

I can tell you in my RP thread, it took near a whole 5gal jug to fill a rebuilt 100% empty everything trans.

on the 700R4 you use about 4-5 quarts with a filter change dropping the pan.

On a rebuild and new TC, it uses 12 quarts


maybe that will give you some ideas
