T-5 versus T-56?

I've always heard that the stock T-5 five speed transmission is not as strong as the T-56 six speed. But if you were going to rebuild a T-5, are there aftermarket parts that would make it stronger?
Also, what are the gear ratios of each gear of the T-5? Is first gear lower on the T-56?

Check out g-force transmissions for a stronger t5

From what I understand, the main advantage of the t56, other than being stronger, is the 6yh gear is am ultra deep 2nd overdrive. Giving you lower rpms on the highway

Sums it up nicely

Weak point of the T5 is the case and G-force sells a stronger replacement along with practically everything else for it. Even after you're done with all those upgrades you can buy a built up T56 that will take twice the tq

The counter to mainshaft distance, bearing designs and case design (even aftermarket) keep that from happening.

Run the T5. Go T56 when it breaks.
