transmission T5 standard for LT1??

sorry, I could answer a question, I have a 1992 camaro LT1 engine started, I would like to do standard, but can not find a 6-speed, I found a 5-speed Camaro V8 5.0 1989, the question is, I can put Broadcasts that my LT1, will go to the track stand and walk in the street? in some forums say I can not stand that breaks, is that right?

Install the 5 speed.
In case it breaks, keep looking for a 6 speed.

Pretty sure it will depend on how you drive it. It's been done, just don't expect it to live forever, and you won't be disappointed.

Not sure about "stand" and "walk"; but I know about "breaks".

The T-5 will bolt right up to the LT1, no problems. Problem is, it's weak, and won't take much power at all. If you abuse it, it will tear up. Pretty much garanteed.

LT1 doesn't have much to do with it. About any V8 can tear it up. I tore up my first 3 or 4 T-5s with the 305 that came in the car. Some people even figure out how to tear them up with a 6-cyl.
