need help 4l60e

need help 4l60e

hey guy my friend has an 88 chevy it came with a 700r4 hes thinking about putting in an 4l60e because its the only one he can find at the junk yards problem is the plug he has a 4 wire and the transmission is a 12 wire. Does anybody know of an adapter or how to wire it up

pretty sure youll need a PCM for the 4l60e.

Finding a cheap 84-93 700R4 shouldn't be that hard. Do NOT use a 4L60E.

i was about to say that its harder to find a 4L60E

problem is the junk yard only has the 4l60 oh well think hes going to try and rebuild it him self thanks for the advice guys

Good luck with that. The 4L60e will not function in a 700r4 vehicle without the propper controller. Its not just a matter of changing wires. The 700r4 is not computer controlled but the 4l60e is. Cant just change to it.
