Looking at a cheap rebuild kit for 700r4 on ebay

I'm looking for a basic inexpensive kit for a 700r4 from an 86 corvette. It's starting to slip in overdrive. I already have a trans-go shift kit, new b&m 2500 lock-up converter, and a new GM HD sunshell, just need all the internal wear items. Won't be behind anything too wild, 300hp 350 ft lbs maybe? Just want it to do its job. Why is this kit so cheap compared to others? http://www.ebay.com/itm/700R4-85-Ear...9ba0#vi-ilComp

that's a pretty standard price at wholesale. you could always add a pin extender to your band to make it last a lil longer. it's like a band adjustment. you would need to pull the servo out of the car to do it. it just fits on the tip of the pin. you put your cover back on and make sure to check that there is some play between the cover and the snapring so it isn't always applied. if there is no play with the pin extender just grind a lil off until there is. as a bonus it will make second gear firmer too

interesting, basically a temp solution/cheap fix. If it solves the problem for even 6 months so I can get more pressing repairs done and have a driver while fixxing my dd that would be great. If I could get my ta back on the road while using the 86 as a dd I could take my time when I tear down the 86 and do it the way I want.. sounds like its worth a shot considering price... will I be able to do it with the tranny in the car? Maybe pull dist and trans mount and see if I can get at it?

I was refering to the pin extender, if all you need to do is remove the servo can you get enough room to get at it by removing the trans mount and maybe dist and angle the trans slightly? If so I'd give it a go, if trannys coming out anyway I'm not going to bother tryin a bandaid and will bite the bullet, but if I could get a little more use out of it for now while I fix my DD that would be great so I can have a driver for the time being. Single car garage with the vette currently occupying it, need to replace my clutch AGAIN in my 99ta after less than 10k due to an anti rattle spring poping out of the friction disc trashing my new flywheel, and clutch kit (spec stage 3) will never use one of their products again..
