Flywheel Cover

Anyone know the part number (or where I can get) a flywheel cover/dustcover? Is it necessary?

Re: Flywheel Cover

I read a while back where a plastic bag (IIRC) managed to find its way in and caused the owner considerable annoyance.

Try posting in our site's classifieds for the cover if it'll provide piece of mind.

Re: Flywheel Cover

AFAIK you can't get a new one any more.

However...

If this is for a T-5, a 93-97 T-56 one fits, except it needs a couple of holes drilled in either the cover or the BH, because some of the screws are in different places.

I had a piece of .... something metal laying in the middle of the freeway.... fly up into there in another car I once had back in my younger and even more foolish days (hard to imagine how I could have possibly been any more foolish than I am now and still survived, but, yeah...) and get wedged in something up in there, and exploded the clutch and the BH. Nowadays I always make sure I put it back on.

Not hard to make a reasonable facsimile that would be adequate, if you can't buy one.

Re: Flywheel Cover

You can always check places like ebay and the local junkyard.

Like said, no you dont have to have one, but they will keep unwanted stuff out.
