700r4 Stall Options & shift kit
Alright in mid october i lost 3rd and 4th gear in my 86 IROC now that its winter im in the process of pulling the trans out. im gonna look at all my options before i rebuild or buy a new trans. But i wanna do a few things to the rebuilt/new 700r4 first off ive always wanted a shift kit but i dont know which one is the best to choose im looking for something that with have a nice firm shift and will break the tires looks or chirp them into 2nd and maybe 3rd. Then a stall i was thinking of a 1800-2000 but then started considering a 2500 stall. i would like some advice and opinions of what i should get and how it worked in any of your guys cars
Thanks

Transgo modified shift kit from dayna @ probuilt automatics is what I used in a otherwise stock transmission with a healthy 350 tpi. It chirps em in second and third gear. Just follow the directions precisely. He sells in my opinion and verified by my research the best shift kit you can get your hands on.

A converter for a 1995 CPI L35 4.3 S10 will stall around 2,600 rpm behind a 350 and is available from GM still. A Corvette TV sleeve and plunger will give WOT 3-4 shifts.(Budget tbi build)
GM 5,000 rpm governor (P#24202117, $28.79 gmpartsdirect.com).
140 at advance auto, dealer is way too high.

Stock stall is I believe 1600 RPM. Not much point in doing a 2000 RPM stall. Ive been tossing around the idea of a Vigilante 2600 for my car.

I was looking at this package for replacing my trans when I kill it. Includes the TransGo shift kit installed and rated up to 550hp, it also includes a torque converter.
