trans fitment

24208421- from what i can find it is the 4l80e but I'm seeing some things saying it was mated to a diesel motor.. would that make it not work?

Will this trans bolt up to a 2002 5.3 and will it fit in a 91 camaro. i had a guy tell me that the 4l80e is to big to fit. just wanted to make sure before i trade for it.

thanks guys.

Re: trans fitment

Itll bolt up but one bolt wont be used. People do it all the time but I'm not 100% for sure what all is needed.

Re: trans fitment

there are a couple of guys in the lsx swap section running 4l80e's, may get a bit more help over there. you *may* be able to get it in without issue, but you'll probably have to massage the back of the tranny housing since there are 2 bumps (for lack of a better word) toward the rear of the trans that may contact the sheet metal there.

I'm not sure of how it will fit in your car. From what I've seen on getting a diesel trans to work behind a gasoline engine you have to buy a different torque converter and a different governor. You might need a different computer for the trans too.
