I have searched around and cant find any set way to test the line pressure on a 700r4. Most information I found tried to direct you to the tvmadez website that from what I can tell no longer exists.
I have the gauge on order. I know the pressure port is located right above the shifter on the transmission. My problem is, what do I do? I figured test the pressure at idle in all shifter positions. Then test around 2000 rpm. But do you have to have it under load or can the car be on jackstands?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to do this blindly.
As far as the pressures go, I have seen stock charts, but since this transmission has a ProBuilt kit in it, I will probably call Dana to see what pressures I should be seeing. Maybe he will run across this thread.
Thanks

I have one of Dana's kits in my 700r4. These are the pressures I measured at idle:
Code:
The other test you want to do is increase the RPMs to about 1500 and pull the TV cable out as far as it will go. You should see pressures over 230 PSI in all gears.P 90 PSI R 130 N 90 OD 90 D 90 2 230 1 230
