Lets talk clutches
For all you manual transmissions out there, I want to get some more information out there about what you're all driving on. What kind of clutch did you put it your cars? What brand did you choose and why? What material is it made of? What advantages do different materials have?
I'm planning on doing a 305 to 350 swap in my car, and am having troubles deciding what type of clutch to put in. I will be driving it daily, so city and highway. I'm also admittedly not very experienced at driving stick as a daily driver, so it will go through quite the beating!
Looking for any advice, and just some general opinions and information! Anything would be helpful and appreciated.
(PS yes I've posted this twice, I was in the wrong category... Noob )

Re: Lets talk clutches
If I were you, I would keep the 305/t5, learn on that clutch, beat it up, and when you get comfortable and experienced, do the swap, and put in an upgraded clutch (although a new factory one might be alright).
No sense in ruining a new clutch setup and wasting that money and time. You are going to put in a new motor, new clutch, beat the clutch have to replace it again when you could save time/$$. Just my thoughts man.
Stick is fun, just need think about what you are doing here ;-)

Re: Lets talk clutches
Practice makes perfect... I am currently driving her around (305/t5) however the main reason for the swap is the rod knock shes developed... Thought I'd make the most of a bad situation by upgrading what I can. So naturally from a 305, 350 seemed a good place to go, and while its all apart I would like to do the clutch, but like I said I can't decide what brand/material would be the best for me.
