Not compression braking?

Yet another issue... The 700 isn't compression braking when the shifter is in OD... Thoughts?

Re: Not compression braking?

Agreed. You aren't going to get much compression braking in OD anyway unless you are going really fast. In OD it is always going to the choose the highest gear rather than compression braking.

Re: Not compression braking?

Well no, in OD the input sprag allows the input shaft to overrun so there's no engine braking, but in manual 3rd and below the overrun clutch locks up the input shaft.

I seem to recall getting engine braking at higher rpm in OD (130mph +). But it could just be the wind resistance at that speed. It has been a while.

Either way, problem is now solved with the T56,

Re: Not compression braking?

Ok, other than that , I'm getting a "shutter" VERY badly (only happened 3x so far) when the tranny is at 2500-3000 in second and i smash on the go-juice pedal... I'm thinking that its the shifter b/t gears... only other thing I think it could be is line pressure but since its only happened a few times, I really dont think that is the issue
