I just got an 89 Iroc L98 700R and around here alot of people say after 100k your better off not to try to change fluid because they won't last long afterwards. Do you guys believe this? I wanted to add a aftermarket cooler and a shift kit with a fluid change but honestly I'm scared now. Engine, trans, and the hole car for that matter works flawlessly now. I can't see anything happening?

As with all of these claims, its all according to how the tranny was maintained... I had a 700r4 w/ over 200k on it and I changed the fluid/filter about every 30k in it... It finally went out when I stuck a 400 fogger on the new 406 (just to see if the tranny was as awesome enough to take it) yea it was fun lol
My 4l60E in my truck didnt get its fluid changed until 130k miles. Had a bad trans fluid leak from the pan gasket. Not much choice at that point...
Still shifts fine. Not sure how much longer it has left in it... but it's fine for now, 30k miles later.
But I do NOT drive it hard. I've probably NEVER gone WOT in the truck.
