Re: t5 trans neutral saftey switch?

There was a switch. If you look at the clutch pedal on the third gen pedal assembly you can see where it's installed in the pedals.

I think it's the big fat purple wires going to the automatic trans gear selector that have to be extended down to the new neutral safety switch.

If you dont want to bother, you can just run those two wires into each other and bypass it altogether.

Re: t5 trans neutral saftey switch?

yes i know about the pedals, but there is none on the trans itself corect?

the pedals have factory wiring by them for the NSS, i have the pigtails and everything for that.

Re: t5 trans neutral saftey switch?

Right: none on the trans, only the clutch.

After all, it doesn't much matter for the purpose at hand what gear the trans is in, if the clutch is to the floor, eh?

That's interesting.

I dont think the T56 has a trans-based NSS either. Must be an aftermarket thing.

Re: t5 trans neutral saftey switch?

No indeed, the T-56 doesn't either... can't say I've ever seen a trans that had one there. But then I've never worked on a TKO. Must be intended as a way to "retrofit" that function into a vehicle that lacked the clutch one to begin with. (i.e. an auto -> stick swap)
