really hard to shift

i was driving the gta around town and all of the sudden when i came to a stop u tried to put the shifter in gear but it was very hard to do so i had to use considerable force to get it in gear i tried putting into the other gears to see if it would loosen up but they were all hard whats myght be the issue

its a 1988 gta with wc t5 thanks folks

Did it jump when you jammed it into gear? if so, could be hydro's gradually heading south.

Yeah I would definitely blame the hydraulics.

I'm assuming it's a manual, it is most likely your synchros going bad, my car has this issue but a t56 would be cheaper than fixing my t5 so I'm not going to bother with it.
