Help! New drivetrain not working!
Ok, back in December I replaced my t-5 transmission, my clutch, and a few other minor things while I was at it. It's been driving/shifting great ever since, until today.
I was driving in to work, went to slow down for a stoplight, and realized my tranny was stuck in fifth. I could muscle the shifter into the neutral position, but it was still in fifth gear. I sat in traffic for about 5 or 6 minutes stuck in fifth, unable to move. It finally came back out, but didn't want to go into any other gears. I managed to get it into first, and it would shift ok as long as I rev-matched, but it was still iffy. Got it home, shut it off, and with the car off it shifts into every gear just like new.
Here's my thought pattern, any help would be nice... I figure the transmission is probably still good, because with the car off it shifts into all the gears no problem. I'm thinking my clutch isn't fully disengaging when I push the pedal in. What could cause this? I'm thinking air in the lines, bad master/slave maybe? I'd think if the clutch were bad it'd cause slipping, not too much grab. Anybody else have this problem, or have ideas? I'm really hoping I won't have to pull my transmission out in my driveway again.

Re: Help! New drivetrain not working!
Ok, pulled the hydraulic system out last night. I didn't see any leaks, it seemed to work just like it should. I've already got a new master and slave, but if the old ones aren't broken, that's $70 I could sure use in other ways... is it possible for the master and/or slave to be broken without any visible problems? Are there any ways to check? PLEASE somebody respond. I'm afraid of putting it all back together and having it not work again.

Re: Help! New drivetrain not working!
Well, I think I found the problem... when I got underneath the car again last night, I was looking a little closer at the transmission I put in to make sure it was all still intact... That's when I noticed the clutch fork pivot stud had backed itself out about half an inch. *facepalm* Pretty sure that's most of, if not all of, my problem. Picking up threadlock today so I can make sure that doesn't happen again. Unfortunately, I already attached all of the new hydraulics, so now I'll have to bleed the system anyways. Lol.

That would definitely cause your issue. Once you tighten that back up I'm sure everything will work just fine.

I certainly hope so... I'm a little nervous the clip on the clutch fork might've come off of the pivot, which would cause significant problems... and I'd have to pull off the tranny and bellhousing again to fix it. -.- I suppose I'll find out tomorrow night when it's all back together.
