help with my transmission!

okay so i believe i have a 700r4, my first question is how do i know for sure. my second is that i plan to rebuild it, would it be cheaper to go to a scrap and get a new one? what do i need in order to rebuild it?

Adding your year, make, model, engine, trans to any question is always helpful.

probably. probably. depends.



Start by googling "700R4 pan" as one way to help identify it.
Salvage yards vary in price and required parts to rebuild a trans. varies heavily so... your second question is unanswerable until you tear it down and price things. Same for the last question.

If your going to keep the car you will not want to skimp on the parts. They have different kits depending on what you want out of your car but look around and get quality stuff.

If your asking these questions you shouldn't attempt to rebuild it yourself.
