Clutch slipping symptoms?
Clutch slipping symptoms?
Hello...
I have my 1988 camaro, 2.8l v6 sitting and was wanting to sell her. It was my car way back in high school. My dad has spent the money when needed over the years. Engines runs very strong. The issue I have is this...
When applying the gas and releasing pressure off the clutch pedal there is little to no movement of the car...it does get going with a good press of the gas pedal.
When driving...in every gear, when the gas pedal is punched the RPMs jump and the car doesn't. Sounds like a clutch to me? Will continue to search this site for more info. I love to see photos.
In the meantime would appreciate some feedback and maybe a link to step by step removal of transmission to access the clutch to replace it.
(there is no chance the system just needs to be bled?)
Where and what clutch should I purchase prior to removing the old one? Stock clutch is fine with me.
First timer here, and thanks in advance. Brett

I can help you a little bit on this one. The OE clutch should be fine if that is what the problem is.

Re: Clutch slipping symptoms?
I have fried enough clutches in my time (perhaps it is something I am doing?
), and it sounds like yours is fried. I would recommend bleeding it to see if it helps before you replace the clutch as it is a lot easier.
The stock should be fine unless you drive crazy like me.
