RTV On 700R4 Pan
Hey guys I am trying to find a general consensus on whether or not to use RTV on the pan gasket when I put my 700R4 pan back on. I am installing a 2600 converter and just serviced the transmission. I don't want the transmission to leak, but when I pulled the pan off there was no RTV from the prior service
Thanks for the help guys.

use the black GM gasket. Skip the cork. Skip the RTV. A bent pan should be replaced, not RTVd.

Yep. First off make sure the pan is good and straight. Then make sure you have a good gasket. Neoprene or Duraprene I believe are what the better ones are made from.
Thats what I have always used and no leaks yet. (Only time I had an issue was due to a bent pan)
