I bought an 89GTA that had a T56 conversion already done. I had to rebuild the engine and am getting ready to put it back in. I've never installed an engine in a car with the LT1 pull-type clutch. Any specific steps to go about putting the engine back in and getting it coupled to the transmission?

No; no different from any other. Put the fork into the BH and have it semi roughly in the right spot. Then just drop the motor in and back it up until the pilot goes up through the clutch and into the crank. Put the fork on the throwout after it's all together.

You'll save yourself a lot of headaches if you take out the transmission, bolt it to the engine, then put them in together. I've done it both ways, if I ever have to do it again they're going in and coming out together.
