Pressed my T56 pilot bearing in too far
I tapped a little too much and the bearing is sitting inside the crank, exactly 0.070" past flush. I tried the grease method to no avail. Any advice?

Perfecly fine. Don't worry about it.

This one has ...... tens of thousands of miles on it; prolly over 60k.
Yes you are reading the block casting # correctly.

Cool thanks. How would you remove a bearing that's been pressed in too far? It seems the grease method wouldn't work well because there is no volume behind it anymore.

Should work fine... doesn't require "volume" for any reason. That's the method I always use, hasn't failed me yet.

I didn't really mean volume, I just meant the grease needs to be able to get behind the bearing to push it out. If you press it all the way in there is no room behind the bearing for the grease to do its work.

There is still room behind the bearing.
Personally, I'd use a two-jaw puller tool intended for the job. The outer race to the pilot tip of the maindrive shaft clearance is greater than that of a solid bronze bushing so you may have mixed results with the grease method.
