4th Gen Pedalbox issue

I'm in the process of fitting a 4th gen pedalbox into my 3rd gen and have an issue.
Got the box in fine and found a hole stamped in the firewall for the master cylinder ! No small holes for the u bolt though.
My problem is that the part of the pedal box for the master cylinder does not line up with the hole.
Now do I enlarge the hole or bend the pedalbox?
Ideas guys?

It may seem meaningless but are you by chance working on an 82 or 83? If so I would bet that the hole in the firewall is off due to being for a 4 sp w/ mechanical clutch Z Bar setup.

The forth gens upper mounting hole is in a slighty different location and it might be pushing the whole assembly down. Just a thought.

Re: 4th Gen Pedalbox issue

That location is fine. The hole in the firewall for the master is a oval, not a perfect circle, you simply need to open the hole further. Measure the diameter of the hole and use that size hole saw to open it up. You can use the saw on an angle so that it pilots in the exsisting hole then just cut out a little more so the master fits, instal the master, make sure its in line with the pedal, then drill the 2 small holes

Re: 4th Gen Pedalbox issue

I struggled to get the pedal box top hole to line up but once i removed the sound proofing from the bulkhead it was fine !
So just oval the hole downwards and it should be ok ?
Thats great - my T56 crosmember has just cleared customs over here so i will hopefully be doing the rest of the swap next weekend !

Cheers guys
