Torque converter question

Ok, I know this is a shot in the dark but figured it couldn't hurt. I recently had to buy a cheap 700r4 for my daily driver (92 Camaro RS 305 tbi). I managed to find a cheap deal on one and yes I know you get what you pay for but I was in a tight spot. I paid $100 for a used one that the guy had laying around. I noticed one thing strange about it that I've never seen before. The torque converter seemed really small. I wish I'd have taken pics of it. I was going to use one of the torque converters I had laying around but they didnt seem to fit (I forget why exactly). So I decided F-it, I need the car on the road so I'll just go with it and see what happens. I adjusted the tv cable and it seemed to work fine as I recall (this was about a year ago). Not long after that I got another one of our Camaros on the road so the car didnt see much action. Lately though, since Ive had more time to be picky and notice more, I notice that Its not quite catching where it should be. What I mean by that is...the rpms will be at about 4 grand and the car wont be doing but 20. I have to let off the gas to manually get it to shift. On first start up it seems really bad like that but as the car warms up it seems to shift better. Not like it should but a lot better. I installed the Trans Go Junior kit and have the Corvette servo. Thats about all I remember but what Im really wondering is what kind of torque converter is that? Its way smaller then the normal ones Im use to seeing in the 700R4's? It almost feels as if the tranny is going out but its been like that since day one. Could it be related to this torque converter or something completely different? Why does it shift so late and at such high RPM's when its cold or the engines not warmed up? Like I said, I know its a shot in the dark and lacking a lot of info but maybe one of yall with a little more transmission experience might know what the converter is or why its shifting the way it is. Thanks in advance. Any insight would be great!

Re: Torque converter question

The less the diameter, the higher the stall. Even if the internal fin angles are very positive.
