Shift Kit

I am going to install a shift kit in my 700r4. I have never done this before can anyone give me some advise? It's a TransCo that can make it a manual shift but I don't want that. I do want the stage 2. Do I need to reprogram my computer to make this work? I have an EBL but I haven't installed it yet. Is there a step by step thread talking me through this.

Re: Shift Kit

Personally I did not want to mess with or even have a shop touch my transmission with a shift kit..It was running perfectly except for the softer shifts than I would have liked.I installed a Corvette servo and that fixed the problem. My 1to2 shifts and 2to3 shifts are nice and firm. I can chirp the wheels going into ether gear when at WOT.Thats even before the upgrade to 3.42 ratio with Eaton posi. that I had installed. Now its even better.I just floor the pedal while in 2 and the trans down shifts to 1st for a second then hits 2ed again with a nice loud chirp then another chirp while shifting into 3rd.I would do the servo first than if that's not good enough add the kit.By the way a Corvette servo plays a large role in most kits as well.

Re: Shift Kit

I'm having a hard time figuring out the sol. Can you tell me which one or the exact name? What year Corvette and where to get it with part number. Your tranny shifts sound like what I want to do. May be a little more. My TA slides sideways going into second and I don't have the ***** to take it to 3rd gear yet. But I do have more motor and gears in that. After I put the 350 in it I do want close to the same.

I only have 2.4 somethings in the camaro. Would 3.08s do the job? I still want to go highway speeds.

The 305 with the gears I have in it now won't even do a brake torque. I am just doing what I can before the big swap.

Re: Shift Kit

Call and talk to Dana at Pro-Built Automatics at 1-909-795-1876 and tell him you want to order the Corvette Sero for your 700r4. Ask if it comes with instructions. I payed $23.00 for mine back in “2007”
Heres were I went for extra help with the install = http://sethirdgen.org/servo.htm

This is what I did to my open differential and 2.73 gear ratio. Not a inexpensive way to go but I saved for over two years to do it.
Here's a link to L.P.W Racing that I found very helpful when deciding on a "Support Cover" for my new 28 spline Eaton posi, 28 spline axles,3.42 gear ratio.= http://www.lpwracing.com/Diff_Cover_...omparison.html and here's were I bought it.= http://www.jegs.com/i/L.P.W./619/301-7.5G/10002/-1
And here's a link to the 10 bolt build = https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tr...de-photos.html (10 Bolt upgrade photos)

Re: Shift Kit

I bought Dana's kit with the transgo stuff and the corvette servo. It's not too hard to install, just take your time and double check everything. If something doesn't seem right, call him and he'll help you out.

Make 110% sure that when you put the valve body back on everything is lined up correctly.

I had a sticky valve and a very slightly misaligned seperator plate that caused me some headaches.
