9 Bolt Axle shaft play
In the process of rebuilding my 9bolt (bearing, new carrier). I've got the axle shafts in and the L one has almost 1/8" of pull/push(in/out) play. How do I get rid of the excess play?

Do you have the brake backing plates and bearing retainer all installed and bolted up correctly?
With it having a pressed on bearing I wouldn't think it would have that much play but its been awhile since I worked on a 9 bolt.

Did you replace the axle bearings already? Did you inspect the shafts under the bearing surface for wear? Did you install the seals? I read on here that you might need to remove any: paint on the outer edge of the seal to get it to seat fully.
