Rear End Swap Question

I have a 87 camaro.

I am looking to swap rear ends to a disc brake rear end with posi. I was wondering would a 94 rear end work. I am swapping because I want the disc brakes and posi and also one of my axles are bent on the car, so i figured since i found teh 94, if it would work. it would be way easier to just swap it.

Any info would help. Thanks

Re: Rear End Swap Question

A 93-02 rear end will bolt right in, but be 4" wider. So if you put your stock wheels on it, they will set 2" further out (on each side). Or put 4th gen wheels on & they will tuck right in, just inside the fender lips. Your speedo will likely read differently now because of a different rear end ratio. Plus you will get different opinions on braking performance if you currently have drum brakes & are putting on disc brakes.

If you had looked around a bit or used the Search feature built in, you would have found the answer, and a whole lot more, you wanted & found that it has been answered many many times.

Re: Rear End Swap Question

The 4th gen rear ends are 2 inches wider on both sides for a total of 4 inches wider than a stock rear, as far as I know it's a bolt in swap.
