truck 700r4

can a truck 700r4 fit in our cars? and if so what all has to swap and what type of truck should i look for? i have a 700 behind my v6 so i have most the stuff i can rob off of it for my swap but need to know if this would work, it seems like truck 700r4s are plentiful around here, 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.

A T700 is a T700 ; the tailshaft housing varies depending what it was originally installed in so you would have to fit your 3rd Gen housing to any T700 you buy
4WD should have different ( shorter ) output shaft to mate to the transfer case so stay away from those

Re: truck 700r4

Assuming you're planning to do a V8 swap: Get one from '88-'93, codes are stamped on the passenger side, towards the rear, just above the pan. Get one from a V8, the 4.3 versions don't have as many frictions and steels inside. Plan on a 'vette servo. Plan on swapping your shifter bracket. The V6 case you have uses a different bellhousing pattern from the V8 versions. Torque converter pilot is also smaller than V8-spec. V8 guts can go in V6 case.
