Hi I have a 84 z28 Camaro I picked up as a project a couple months ago.
I was getting ready to put another engine in it so I pulled out the engine and transmission.
I was surprised when I noticed the transmission only has 11 splines.
Is this normal?
I always thought that the were supposed to be 14 or 28 spline?
The reason I ask is because someone told me that's a V6 transmission so I want to know if I should buy another transmission, or will this one work?

I was looking for clutch kit, and realized they only have them for 10 spline transmissions, so I guess I miscounted?

 

GM didn't use 10-spline very much, if at all. Typically found in Fords, like the older 5.0 Mustangs. If it is a T5, give us the code on the build tag.
