First off my car has a SES light on and theres noone around here to check it... i went and bought a speedo cable from advanced auto parts (assuming it was right) and installed, drove it down the road and my ses light never came on... the speedo was about 20MPH off.. and it broke very shortly after. Second my 700R4 is not shifting right... my tach is messed up so im not sure exactly where its shifting, but its shifting HARD from 1st to 2nd and shifts way to fast from 3rd to 4th, Cable out of adjustment? Shift kit? Governor? Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

 

Probably has at least part of a shift kit done. Best way to soften the 1-2 is with a different accumulator spring. It may have a solid spacer in place of the spring, stock springs always broke. As for the 3-4 shift, you can manually shift from OD to d to prevent this. Speedo being wrong: what do you expect? L98s never came with 3.73:1 gears. Get a 15 tooth drive gear, and a 44 tooth driven gear. Cable breaking,: no clue, sorry.

 

You do have a good point about the gears/stock cable i bought haha... yeah it still has the factor shifter ATM and its messed up somehow... it likes to skip gears when i try to manualy shift it. So im going to invest in a new shifter from hurst very soon. Thank you for your input!!
