Hello all,

I have done a v6 to v8 swap in my 87 firebird and am just troubleshooting the speedo my engine and trans came from a 84 firebird se and I have swapped the cable drive to the electric vss and the gears and ran the pins to the c100 to keep the wiring Unhacked. I kept the interior harness from the 87 and am using the engine side from the 84 so I just put the pins for the vss into the engine side the should be in the correct spot to mate with the interior side of c100.

Still no speedo?
Either my vss is broken or I put the pins in the wrong spot on the engine c100?
Or am I missing something? I shouldn't have to mess with the buffer box since I used interior side from 87?

 

was '87 V6 supplied with yellow buffer box or wires from vss go straightly to ecm and then to speedo?

 

The wires go from vss (purple and yellow)?to c100 (engine side from v8 '84) then from c100 (interior side '87) to buffer box it's in the dash right beside ECM. All my other electrical is working except speedo.
