Did i assemble this VSS right?

So i ordered this VSS from Jagsthatrun.com, along with a bullet and speedo driven gear from PATC. Just put it together now. did I do it right? also i'm thinking i need that little metal tab to hold it in the trans?

With a new speedo gear sleeve "bullet," you just need to make sure the outer seal rides on a smooth non-grooved section of the speedo gear or drive it in further.

Looks good. Yes the screw-retained tab holds it at the groove cut on the side of the bullet.

Thanks, JMD!.

That brown gear is in as far as it will go. is it supposed to be like that? also should i apply some thread sealant to the threads on the bullet?

As for the retaining tab, clearly i wasn't the brightest when i ordered lol ordering now!

Yes, the gear goes until it stops.
The threads shouldn't need sealant unless the outer seal leaks against the speedo gear. I'd skip it.
