700R4 shift linkage?
I been having increasing problems with the shifter in my 86Z. Now i put the shifter into park and the tranny lock pin wont enguage so i have to use the parking brake. Also it wont shift into 1st gear now...and the shifter feels sloppy. This a cable,bracket,shifter,or a quadrant problem? Any suggestions will help...thanks

check the plastic housing where the shifter cable snaps into the bracket on the tranny, willing to bet the cable either snapped out or it's broken. If the rear part won't stay in the larger housing you may be able to temporarily fix it by clamping it down with a hose clamp.
