mechinical to electric speedo ?
i have a mechinical driven speedo trans in an electric speedo car, ive heard of a censor that you can buy that bolts on to the trans and converts it to electric signals for the car, now the question is any one know where i can find it? a link would be very helpful. i tried searching on 3rdgen and only found speedo gears, and tried searching the web but am finding all sorts of stuff that im reasonable sure isnt what i need.

Yeah, I figured you had an 80 something T5 by your original post.
It's kind of an endless web cross-reference trail when trying to find the right one. The # in posts on here refers to a maker's VSS list; their #, when searched bring up a major mfgr's PN; that PN cross-referenced through Napa gives....
Call Napa and see if a Echlin VSS218 has the o-ring size that's just slightly under 1". You can measure the working length of it against your mechanical speedo bullet & gear. With those two factors alike, it should fit.
And you'll still need the gear to go on it. If your mechanical stuff has a gear on a steel shaft, that will work; removing it is tricky though.
