I apologize in advance team, I know this has to be here somewhere, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, and am going cross-eyed searching.

I got this '87 Z, but it has a manual speedo cable from the 145 cluster. However, the 700R4 (MD8 to pre-empt your question!) the previous owner put in has a magnetic reader with a female connector (broken) on the outside.

1) Does this mean the tranny is out of a later model (4th gen, for example)?
2) Is there just a factory cable receiver that will slip right in and accept the cable?
I don't imagine there's a pigtail that will connect to a manual cable, but I guess you never know!

I've attached a photo of one just like the one that's in the tranny now.
