need help with 700r4

Switched my carb out about a week ago now when it is a wide open throttle at any speed it downshifts 3 times and its almost like it gets stuck between first and second. I am pretty sure if im going 50 it shouldnt try to downshift to first. Someone told me that i need to buy a throttle valve corection kit does anyone know what i should look for

Whats that connecter? Is it the kickdown cable or?
And its an edlebrock 1406

Keeps the TV cable geometry in correct alignment.
Look at Jegs or Summit for the right part.

I'll send a pic of a Holley geometry corrector.
Edelbrock is very similar in design but length & angle are different, therefore carb specific

Oh alright will do i appreciate the help, i have no idea how long they ran it like this so im thinkin i might do a rebuild and throw in a shift kit. I also thought about swapping to a turbo 400 would that be a good idea or?

The " L " shaped thing attached to the carb throttle arm.
